the willow yurt

The willow yurt is a traditional bentwood yurt made from English Oak. The yurt is 16ft in diameter so plenty of room for either one or two people.. The yurt sits at the bottom of a terraced valley and is only short 5 minute walk to the lake.

The willow yurt is available from the 1st April until the end of October.

inside the yurt

Inside the yurt you will find an airy and spacious environment. Furniture includes a low double bed, ample shelving with hanging space for shirts and jackets, a wooden breakfast table and a sofa.

As we are not connected to the 'grid' our power comes from the sun and wind, LED spotlights provide plenty of light,a 12v cigarette socket is also available for charging mobile phones and laptops. (please bring a 12v cigarette socket adapter if you would like to use this facility)

Below are some images of inside the yurt.

outside the yurt

As you go outside the yurt you will step onto a large wooden veranda overlooking the lake. You may wish to take a moment to stop and enjoy the view, listen to the sounds of the eagles circling nearby or if your very lucky you may even glimpse a reclusive boar taking a dip in the lake to cool down!

On the veranda you will find a table and chairs with a large sun shade umbrella, essential in the hot summer months. To the left of the yurt some steep stone steps lead up to the next terrace where the compost toilet is situated with a great view of the lake! To the right of the willow yurt, stone steps lead up to the Solar Shower located towards the end of the terrace. A gravel path leads up to the road from this terrace.
